Journal Your Christmas- Day 16

My first post since I started the 'Journal Your Christmas' but I have been keeping up - surprisingly, but just not posting.
This is my second digital page I've done so far. I'm loving photoshop and all the possibilities... I still have so much to learn! But that is the fun part!

Daddy's little girl

I love this picture! I was able to catch this picture this weekend while Roby and Payton were playing around in the living room. She has such a great personality... it is so fun to watch her change. She absolutely loves her big brother. Her face will light up as soon as she sees him. And I know it may sound funny, but no one can make her laugh like her big brother!!

Happy Birthday!

We celebrated RJ's 4th Birthday this past weekend at a local party place- Party Central. RJ had a great time. We celebrated with a racecar theme. Mom's first attempt at making the cake herself... the cake tasted good, but had a few cracks in it (we just said an earthquake hit it.) Notice the cake on the left... minor crack starting through the green "infield" of the track! What a day!! Thanks Uncle Wes for taking the action shots of RJ blowing out the candles!

First digi-page- on my own (kinda)

My first page! Well, I definitely used the sample page from jessicasprague.com, but I was able to get through it without any help! I've just completed Week 2 of my online class and am definitely loving it! The digi-scrapping bug has bit me.

The font in the journaling box is my own handwriting. I made my own font from my own handwriting at yourfonts.com! So COOL! It was super easy and so neat to add journaling to my pages in my own handwriting!

Enjoying the simple moments

Payton has found mommy's junk drawer! If Payton is in the kitchen playing she immediately makes her way to the drawer with plastic forks, balloon weights, bags, etc... and oh, yes, she knows she is not 'supposed' to get in there. Because if I call her name when she is making her beeline to the drawer her little knees will start going 90-to-nothing to get there before I can catch her. We do this repeatedly; mostly just because I love hearing that little giggle when I catch her!!! Simple moments really are precious!

I'm joining the digital scrapbooking world!!

This is my first attempt at digital scrapbooking. I'm taking an online class at jessicasprague.com. It is awesome!! It is a step-by-step tutorial that is great and easy to follow. If you want to check it out you should.

Journal Your Christmas 2008

I love Christmas lights! I love seeing the glow of lights in a dark house. I even love it so much I have put a tree in both my kids room's because I want them to love it as much as I do. This definitely is a special time of year. I'm hoping to try to keep things simple this year and not let the little day-to-day hassles affect me. I'm going to stop and enjoy the season. I'm going to just stop and enjoy the lights!!

Polar Express 2008

Polar Express 2008!!!

On Sunday night we arrived at the Calera Train Depot with one very excited little boy. I have not seen RJ this excited in a very long time. He was thrilled and a little apprehensive about seeing Santa. But he did take a picture with him and we even got in a few toys that he wants.
The picture on bottom right is RJ patiently waiting for the arrival of Santa! We sang carols, ate cookies and milk and got to meet Santa, Mrs. Claus, and even some wondeful elves!
We listened to the story of the Polar Express as we traveled by train to the North Pole! We will definitely be making this a Christmas tradition from now on.
(Did you check out RJ's haircut?? Thanks to Roby, RJ is sporting a new, very short "do.")
