Weekend Fun

Weekend was spent at home with lots of cookouts and lots of friends! Saturday afternoon/night Jasey and Jenna came over to play in the water... we got out the slip-n-slide and all kinds of fun was had! Gotta love that sisterly love! And, of course, when good weather is involved, a trip to the park is always on our agenda! RJ and Payton loved these swings!! They may not be the best pictures, but I love the carefree expressions on their faces!
Yes, it finally happened! RJ actually picked up the bat and wanted to play ball! Even though it was dark we were excited to play along!! He did great! We even had an almost "blooper" moment when RJ hit the third pitch right back at Daddy! Thank goodness for Daddy's quick reflexes!

Here comes summer...

When the temps are warm and its nice weather you will most likely find us outside. Yesterday it was actually in the 80s! Perfect time for the kids to play in the water. RJ is an old hand at this all-time favorite activity, but it was Payton's first time! She loved it also, even though she wouldn't keep her hat on! Can't wait to spend more and more time out here. Especially when our porch railing gets completely finished! Yay! More pics to come...

Florida visit to Mimi and Papa's

For Spring Break this year the kids and I traveled to Florida to visit my side of the family. We had a great time. The 10 hour drive even went by pretty smoothly! I had so many great pictures I tried to include as many as possible. There seems to be a story behind all the pictures. Too many to tell here so I'll let the pictures do the talking. At the cow pasture with Papa, Mema and baby calf "Christmas"
Abby and Robert showing RJ the huge pond frog

RJ was very shy at first, notice his grasp on Robert's shorts
Susanne playing with Payton, she loved it!

We had a good Easter weekend just celebrating and relaxing around the house. We had an improptu photo session on Saturday morning while it was a little overcast to try and catch some Easter pictures of RJ and Payton. They cooperated and loved playing with the eggs. My favorite shot of the whole weekend was the one below of big brother putting his arm around little sister. The next shot just happened to be her pushing him away, but at least I caught this one. Surprise Egg!
He makes a pretty good model.
So cute!
Another favorite... opening the surprise egg!

Spaghettios and a big-girl spoon.

Payton is going through the stage of wanting to try and feed herself. Fun, with foods like spaghettios! When she gets frustrated she will let me "load" the spoon for her. It is rather hilarious to watch the whole process. Especially when she gets tired of the spoon and just stuffs the food in with her hand. I think I used to mind it when RJ would get this messy, but (as with most things when the second child is involved), I have learned now to just sit back now and enjoy it. She was quite proud of herself. We then proceeded straight to the bathtub!!
