Guess what we found?

This lovely creature was spotted across the street from our house this weekend. I have no idea what kind of snake it is but I think it has cured my husband of wanting to look for lost golf balls in the future!

Pre-K Graduation

My once little boy has finished preschool! He is finishing one stage of his childhood and getting ready to enter another. It hit me last night at his graduation ceremony when he walked in with his cap and gown on. The program ended with a slide show of each child with a picture of them as a baby and a picture in their cap and gown. The tears started then... mostly because I'm realizing this is just one of many of these stages in his life that I am thrilled to witness and also sad to see pass.

We have birds!

We discovered this bird nest a little too late... I started to take it down one day only to realize the baby birds had just hatched! (This is the light fixture hanging in our front door entryway.) The babies were featherless when I started to pull the nest down - thank goodness I looked inside first! I think there were 3 maybe 4 birds in this tiny nest... they got so big it looked like they were going to fall out of the nest. Then yesterday we realized they were gone... kind of sad to see them go.

She's only two but she already loves taking pictures... she had her turn at our favorite local Mexican restaurant. I was impressed with a couple of them!

Feeling lucky...

I'm feeling lucky, probably because I really am, but I guess also having just celebrated Mother's Day makes me very blessed to have two wonderful, healthy children! A pretty good husband helps also! ;)

It's a great afternoon when the kids (including the biggest one) can play in the water hose and then go straight to jumping on the trampoline!

Bloom where you're planted....

Loving the blooming azaleas around the house this time of year! I've added a little more color also and have plans to do more this week now that I will have a little more free time on my hands! We also have two bird nests that we have to relocate...
