Art

Just to brag a little on my baby girl... she drew this picture of her class on her classroom board yesterday at school.  She informed me I was the tallest figure on the right and she even gave two of the girls "piggy-tails." I LOVE seeing my kids being artistic!

Baseball and memories

We spent all day at the ball park on Saturday and to be totally honest, I had a blast.  I've mentioned my previous boredom with the game of baseball, but now to watch my child and his teammates playing... it is so much fun!  And, of course, I can't help but cheer for them all!

(yes, that is my child putting up the peace signs, acting silly)

Now, when I say all day, I really mean all day... we left our house at 6:30 am to meet up with the team and grab some breakfast.  We arrived at the park a little before 8 am and were playing ball by 9 am. Fast forward all day through some perfect spring time weather and we left the park at 9:30 pm. The team made it to the semi-finals losing by only 3 runs. The kids played better and better as the day went on.

There were lots of breaks in between games... which made the day seem to last longer... at times.  These kids are all the same age, 7, and their energy is limitless.  All the parents would try to get the kids to rest between games which ended up usually only lasting long enough for them to eat.  Then they were up and running again right up until time to take the field again.  I was exhausted and I was just sitting and watching all day.

It was a fun, exhausting and perfect day!

Fro-yo date

Since it was rainy and wet outside on Monday afternoon, the girls had some time to kill while the boys were at baseball practice (indoors).  Best way to kill time? Of course, a frozen yogurt stop!  Payton thought it was the coolest that we got to go without the boys!

First 5k

We are so proud of RJ! He ran his first 5k over the weekend.  He has ran off and on with me at home and loves to run at school.  So I thought he would be up for the challenge.  He did great! We ran in a local race with a small number of participants, perfect for his first race.

We were getting ready for some running fun...

 He wasn't at all nervous!

After the race he felt great and ready for some pancakes.

Showing off his race shirt for school...

No Fear baseball

First tournament is 'in the books' for us.  After a rainout on Saturday, the tournament was rescheduled for Sunday afternoon.  After 3 games back-to-back our 7-under team was worn out! They did so well! I must admit baseball has never been the most exciting game to me, but when your child is playing it all takes on another meaning. It was fun to watch RJ play and his teammates... they all did great and I can't hardly believe I'm saying this... but I'm already looking forward to the next one.
